Blame yourself if you listen to the music of Don’t Blame Jack and don't immediately add them to your playlist.  Forget their youth.  These guys obliterate age and deliver the goods with a stunning mix of maturity and hunger. Born out of the acoustic music of lead singer, songwriter and guitarist Jack Babineau  the band is the sum of five power players.

Their birthplace was Satellite Studios in East Greenwich, RI, where Jack’s debut CD, Generation of Need, was created in 2009. Under the seasoned guidance of producer/engineer/musician Emerson Torrey, the recording was a labor of love and a magnet for three band members: Jack’s brother Joe on bass, his best friend John Strojny on guitar and the producer’s son Jake Torrey, also on guitar. Friend and studio drummer Chris Ready played on the CD, but Max Couto stepped in to be DBJ's first live drummer.   Zack Ethier is DBJ's newest member playing drums as we move forward recording our first record as a band and continuing to play out.  He will be joining us on The Brothers and Sisters Blues Tour.  Check out this link!

With every practice they began to find their sweet spot, the sheer joy of playing together. The energy built until the Generation of Need CD release party in March, 2010. Hard to believe, it was also their debut as a group. The band burned down the house, the buzz began, and just six weeks later, they opened for Blues Traveler at Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel, Providence’s epic rock and roll club.

Try pushing DBJ into a category, and you’ll be working all day long.  All five bring depth and diversity to the gorgeous, insightful, ornery, edgy songs of Jack Babineau. Why else would legendary RI musicians like James Montgomery, Mark Cutler, Dick Reed and Emerson Torrey have agreed to play on Generation of Need? And just listen to the soulful vocals of Boston’s Charise White.

Generation of Need can be downloaded from itunes, Amazon and CDBaby.com.
